Overview
MGM wanted a series of themes dedicated to certain areas of the resort highlighting known attractions, activities and events of the DMV region. My creations were based on the Cherry Blossom season known to attract visitors from around the country and the globe. Days were spent photographing cherry blossoms all over the area. Featured here is the MGM bar and casino as well as the piano bar on the 2nd level across from the main foyer entrance of the hotel. Images were prepared and optimized for large scale fabrication and transferred onto glass panels and vinyl wall coverings for installation.
Additionally, a specific image was created and installed in the Executive, Capital, Presidential and Chairman suites to beautify and anchor the interior spaces.
Goals
The design was specific to the theme of cherry blossoms and the colors of trees had to compliment the color scheme of the interior design.
Process
Collaboration between myself and the interior design firm was constant and free-flowing as images and treatments were passed back and forth making sure all requirements were met.
