Description:
Abstraction of nature’s forms both, flora and fauna are favorites themes in my artwork. The installation of “Mad Jack Plumage” includes 5 large LED lighted stained glass mosaic feathers using Western Colorado University’s mascot of Mad Jack with his feather in his cap as inspiration.
Goals
To work with the university to enhance a new building lobby.
Process
We began with the idea of floor mosaics. However, the concrete floor was already poured when I was brought on board and there was no way in the budget to apply the mosaics and not trip over them. So, wall work was designed instead and LED lights applied to shine through and around the feathers.
