This kinetic sculpture, selected by the city of Boynton Beach's public art system, is sited in front of the Schoolhouse Children's Museum.
This sculpture illustrates concepts of motion and balance, and is intended to prompt questions about the mechanics involved, the play of light, and the constantly changing composition.
The artist, Lin Emery, designed the prototype and model, along with detailed drawings and then supervised the construction with two professional welders and machinists. Debby Coles-Dobay, Public Art Manager for the City of Boynton Beach, chose the location in front of the Schoolhouse Children's Museum, and directed the installation.
The sculpture is featured in the International Kinetic Art Exhibition and Symposium, planned as a biennial event in Boynton Beach, FL, www.intlkineticartevent.org. It is one of 16 kinetic artworks sited in Boynton Beach FL for the year long outdoor exhibit.
