Overview
This kinetic sculpture, selected by the city of Boynton Beach's public art system, is sited in front of the Schoolhouse Children's Museum.
Goals
This sculpture illustrates concepts of motion and balance, and is intended to prompt questions about the mechanics involved, the play of light, and the constantly changing composition.
Process
The artist, Lin Emery, designed the prototype and model, along with detailed drawings and then supervised the construction with two professional welders and machinists. Debby Coles-Dobay, Public Art Manager for the City of Boynton Beach, chose the location in front of the Schoolhouse Children's Museum, and directed the installation.
