Overview

The “Liberty Avenue Musicians” are three 15-foot musicians – located at 947 Liberty Avenue, in the cultural and historic district of downtown Pittsburgh. Created in clay and cast in concrete with warm stone like finishes.

Goals

The musicians pay homage to the musical legacy and diversity of Pittsburgh while creating an iconic welcoming landmark on Liberty Avenue, in the cultural and historic district of downtown Pittsburgh.

Process

The goal was to create an exciting work of art that also served as a facade entryway. The developer by code needed to continue the streetscape and did that through my large-scale sculptures, which then allowed her the space to create an inside courtyard. First drawings were made, then models were approved, then the sculptures were built from the scale models.

Additional Information

One of the most popular installations in Pittsburgh.
