Overview
Terrazzo floor design for Frederiksen Hall at Iowa State University in Ames. Materials include epoxy terrazzo with prefabricated brass, aluminum, and bronze imbeds.
Goals
This installation includes a terrazzo floor for a Student Community Center at Iowa State University. The community center is mainly devoted to serving meals to the student population, therefore, the imagery is derived from the history of food production and agriculture within Iowa. Images include aerial views of plowed field patterns, hawthorn leaves, grasshoppers, and grains, vegetables and fruit. This project was awarded a National Mosaic and Terrazzo Association Honor Award.
