Overview

POTLUCK Arts Music collaborated with artist Karen Hawkins to create a video that illuminates the process and methodology behind her work. The finished piece is a intimate film that tells her story and why she works with decommissioned books.

Goals

Our goal for the project was to allow the audience into the studio of Karen Hawkins and learn about why she surrounds herself with books. The viewer is able to see how she deconstructs and repurposes these once beautiful pieces into pieces of art that can be appreciated once again.

Process

Our collaboration to create this video was a seamless process that came out of a few organic meetings in Karen's studio. Her grace in creating and explaining her work comes through in this beautiful short film.
