Overview
The Alameda Gateway Business Improvement District has a goal of incorporating public art into their district. Because the majority of their space is devoted to business', the challenge is to locate public art opportunities. A new roundabout that connects the Public Library and the Cultural Center was the perfect location. This 10 foot stainless steel and perforated aluminum was powder coated bright, translucent primary colors that brought the total project together.
Goals
The Alameda Gateway Business Improvement District has a goal of incorporating colorful artwork into their business district. They like whimsical and colorful that still display the individual artist's signature work.
Process
The client first contacted us because they had always admired Kevin's work but didn't see anything on the website that would fit the bill. Kevin created numerous sketches that could possibly meet their goals and when this sketch was viewed, everyone involved was excited. Materials and colors were presented and that sealed the deal.
