Overview
The aim of this project is to connect the existing High Line with the Hudson River through the “High Circle” which contains open green space, a circular promenade and a new art center.
The High Circle serves as a significant destination. It can become a part of the existing High Line or remain as an independent entity with its own access from the West Side Highway. The proximity of the Javits Center, the New Hudson Yards and the art center will significantly increase the flow of visitors to the entire area.
Goals
This is a conceptual proposal. At this stage, it does not yet contain commissioned artwork.
Process
This proposal was designed by Eytan Kaufman in collaboration with
Mahan Shirazi and Hiroshi Okamoto of OLI Architects.
