Overview
10′ water feature, with Obsidian sphere, and 10′ dia ground Mandala pattern. Sculptural piece is high fired ceramic shell filled with concrete.
Goals
To bring a sense of peace and healing to the Healing Garden courtyard, where the piece is placed. They also wanted a strong sound of water flowing, so I incorporated the keyhole at the bottom of the piece, down thru which water falls and splashes.
Process
There was much interplay between myself, the design team, the landscape architects and the hospital, to create a suitable centerpiece for the space. We reviewed many forms, colors, patterns
