Overview

This 12 x 18ft sculpture is made of aluminum polycarbonate and LED lighting. Equitas is an original piece that relates to the themes of welcome and inspiration, while relaying the commitment and dedication of the new Salem Police Department. I see this sculpture as a balanced stone that has been carefully worked, rounded and honed into a symbol of honor and justice. Text integrated on the surface was collected from the local community.

Goals

The goal of this project was to represent the themes of the New Salem Police Department: honor and justice. This was the main focus during each step of the artistic process including planning, designing, community outreach, and fabrication.
