Overview
Electromagnetism (also known as Windy Blue) was a custom private commission measuring 6’x13′. The painting was completed in April 2022, painted with acrylic on linen. Themes of the concept for this painting were: Static Electricity, ephemeral, sparks, cascading, with a crescendo of light. The painting is located in Hunter, NY.
Goals
Inspired by another smaller painting I had created previously, Electromagnetism was designed to be a statement piece to fit a specific space, working with a specific color palette of surrounding furnishings.
Process
I began this project with the buyers, working with computer sketches I created, with full mockups in the space where the painting would hang. We would hold weekly zoom meetings until the design concept was agreed upon. Once I began painting, it took about 2 months to complete, with three different phases. We worked together on Zoom and with photo and videos, to create this custom piece. It was truly a collaborative process.
