Overview

The Cox Discovery Center turns a century of company history into a gathering place that expresses Cox’s core values and purpose and creates a living conversation driven by employee contributions.

Goals

In its new Discovery Center, Cox Enterprises, a leader in communications, media, and automotive services for over a century, wanted to showcase both their range of offerings and the people responsible for them—a global community 60,000 strong. Our team helped create an interactive gathering place that expresses the company’s purpose, celebrates its history, and promotes a living conversation driven by employee contributions.
 
Nine installations work together to tell the Cox story. Large Beacons frame the entry, filling the space with abstract animations. Bold architectural forms respond to presence and motion, revealing new layers of information the closer you get. A reactive media wall showcases Cox’s impact across the globe and reveals key moments in the company’s history. The Story Booth captures employee voices and faces and makes them part of the space, creating an ongoing dialogue between the company’s past, present, and future.
The final space is a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Through elegant design, the thoughtful combination of physical and digital components, and the strategic integration of responsive media, we created a holistic interactive environment that inspires, engages, and delights every visitor.

The Cox Discovery Center was actualized in partnership with: Gallagher & Associates (exhibit design), Matlbie Inc. (fabrication), Electrosonic (A/V integration), Hendrick (interior design) and DaVinci Development Collaborative (program management).
