Overview
Pop art inspired three dimensional white and silvered hand-blown glass floats effortlessly in celestial waves on top of vibrant saturated pastel glass panels.
Back-painted glass panels assembled with hand-blown glass, distressed silvered glass, and Swarovski crystals. Hand-blown glass attached with stainless steel mounts to back glass panels. Glass panels attached to wall with french cleats. 12-panel installation measures 12’6″W x 9’4”H x 6”D, each panel measures 3'W x 3’H x 6”D.
Goals
The 'Cosmic Wave' project was created to give a "wow" visual impact to its viewers through a fresh approach to use of color, light and modern design. By incorporating mirror within the glass and an assemblage of Swarovski crystals, l was able to add further dimension to the large scale work creating reflections and infinite depth. Surprising the viewer with an unusual playful palette of colors, the work portrays my contemporary artistic vision of a galactic cosmic wave.
Process
As the artist and creator, I designed the project with the intention of creating visual impact by merging together space, design, and light.
The large scale work also has a delicate balance of glossy pastel panels of color contrasted with stark white glass and metallic silver which in this case is used as a neutral.
