Overview

A series of wall sculptures commissioned by a private corporate client. An exploration of the moment when a logical system breaks down into what is perceived to be an anomalous result. Trigonometric functions are used as mechanisms, and while their output always remains quantifiable and predictable, inflection points in long running patterns allude to formal exceptions.

Goals

Part of an ongoing series of wall-based sculptures looking toward naturally occurring formal patterns within trigonometric functions. These pieces, each comprised of three panels, interlace two complementary functions in a manner that simultaneously approximates individual surfaces as well as an emergent moiré pattern.
