Overview

Through the Art in State Buildings Program, Florida Atlantic University commissioned us to create sculptures that would also function as seating, barriers to traffic, and gathering areas at the entrance to the campus.
We created nine sculptures based on coral reef imagery. Eight of these sculptures are also seating units, and three of the pieces have kinetic elements.

Goals

The University was expanding with plans to create a large campus. Our task was to enliven the entrance and create a welcoming place for community life.

Process

We worked with the Dean of FAU Jupiter to create a series of artworks that are appropriate for Florida and for the Jupiter Campus of Florida Atlantic University.
