Overview

Classical restoration of a private residence in Summerlin, Las Vegas. Total project size approximately 15,000 square feet. The first photo features the upper hallway landing and foyer to the master bedroom. The second photo features the private massage room located in the spa.

Goals

The upper hallway landing was designed to feature the client's favorite sculpture artist, Tuan Nguyen and showcase their adoration for Venetian frescos, this particular one inspired by Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. The private massage room was designed to create an oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation. The wall mural, hand painted by de Gournay artists, uses vibrant, contrasting colors combined with extreme attention to detail to envelop the client in a breathtaking experience.

Process

In the upper hallway landing, custom built-ins in niches were designed to showcase and accentuate four Tuan bronze sculptures above (two not shown). Nguyen's sculpture’s were ideal for this elevated location due to the divine sense of weightlessness they express. The North wall was framed in mirror with appropriate lighting to highlight the large Venetian fresco on gessoed canvas, which was also framed in gold leaf. The true central focus of the upper landing, the painting is breathtaking at am impressive 10' x 4' 10”. The wall mural theme and colors were selected due to their soothing and serene properties that contribute to an overall state of restoration and healing. At the same time the piece is also extremely invigorating and uplifting creating an auro of happiness in the space.

Additional Information

This project is truly a luxurious accumulation of serenity and grace that radiates from the artworks chosen.
