Overview

Light Installation with 23 programmable RGB-LED panels, acrylic and stainless steel
21.5 x 4.5 ft (W x H)

The central concrete bench at the Beach Museum’s sculpture garden is transformed into a cinematic, abstract color field. The light installation on the back support of the bench becomes a panoramic digital landscape dominating the view. Over time, continuous slow changes and fades of various subtle color gradients alter the digital landscape. The introduction of this virtual gesture maintains a delicate balance with the natural landscape surrounding the museum. A new hybrid whole is created through the combination of the real and the virtual.

The installation consists of multiple RGB LED side-lit acrylic panels. The panels are framed in stainless steel channels, weatherproof, and scratch resistant.

Goals

To create a hybrid of the virtual and real.
