Overview
Materials became a large part of this project because of the look we were trying to attain and the accessibility of the walls. I created a piece that broke down into several components that attached to each other with a cleat system. There was about 800 square feet of wall with the top of the piece at about 25 feet.
Goals
The owner had an idea for the art he wanted in this space using the Rocky Mountains at sunset as an inspiration. My goal was then to create works that fit into this idea and worked within the space and the color pallet of the furniture, counter tops and carpet.
Process
After given the initial concept, I developed an idea based on lines and feel of the original inspiration but using bright colors and materials. After the presentation, I worked with the designer to come up with a color pallet more appropriate for a retirement community and one that fit the decor better.
Additional Information
In order to hang this project, I had to engineer in a way create a large piece that broke into components for ease of installation.
