Overview

12,000 sq ft home in the Aspen Highlands. We were called in during construction phase to work with the designer and develop lighting throughout the main public spaces of the home. www.cplighting.com

Goals

The goals were mainly about style and scale. The living room had a massive expanse with two living groups and a 27' height at the center beam along with fantastic views of the mountains. Our Organic Modern style newGROWTH chandeliers were the starting point, playing with and modernizing the Western tradition of antler chandelier and rustic interiors.

Process

CP Lighting and Bowden worked together to determine the best size and configuration for the custom newGROWTH chandeliers in the living room and dining room with a site visit and a good deal of back and forth with sketches. The DR fixture is about 5' diameter and the LR fixture an impressive 9' diameter as a focal point of the room. During the design collaboration, it was determined that the adjacent bar area could benefit from some custom branch like pendant that were new to our repertoire. We also collaborated on the re-design of some custom wall sconces that we had done for a previous project. They are now know as our ALR Sconce series and available from 18" H ADA compliant size to the 7' H sconces that are featured in the entry of this project. We also fabricated 48" H and 36" H ALR sconces for the stairway of this project. The rec room in the basement also features a brilliant use of our BigShade fixtures over the pool table -- a modern and highly functional reference to the traditional green glass pool table lights.
