Overview

The project consists in 81 linear in length feet of country stone clad pocket wall with 27 photo image tempered composite glass panels over 3 feet in height. The laminated glass panels to contain an original artist design of free flow none repeat painting of a garden. The title of the piece is “Arcadia”. The format of the piece induced me to visualize entering and walking down a garden path. The garden is enclosed spaces that reflects the concept of nurturing, and, of healing through heighten awareness, and the use of certain medicinal plants.

Goals

The wall came to replace prefab partitions that delimited the waiting areas for the West End Clinic, now rename Good Neighbor Healthcare Center, on Heights Boulevard in Houston, Texas. The wall now has fulfilled the functionality of the waiting areas as well as the esthetic goal envisioned by the commissioners.

Process

This project came at the request of the City of Houston, who selected me based on my experience. I worked seamlessly with the general contractor, Hossein Zafaranian, president of Times Construction, and with Vision Product and Design for the laminated glass
