Overview
Materials: Pine structural lumber; Dimensions: 12' W X 12' D X 14' H; The contrast within this sculpture arises from the combination of the cubic lattice that divides the space into regular pattern and the organic tree-inspired topography of the outer boundary. The lumber material will start as bright yellow pine and with time will slowly change into grey. The sculpture is partially inspired by the architecture, and was built on site at Monona Terrace.
Goals
The sculpture was selected to the annual Art on the Roof. This particular piece was awarded with the highlighted location between the community center and the State Capitol building.
Process
The sculpture was designed specifically for the location and the design was approved by the selection committee.
