Overview
This installation was a response to the reverberation and echoing within the private call rooms at the New York office of Enclos Corp – Advanced Technology Studio. The installation is made from 1″ expanded polyurethane rod, typically used in the curtainwall industry which has been hand crocheted into a surface then mounted to the call room wall.
Goals
The success of the installation was of acoustic integration through performance, however, regardless of the performance as acoustical baffling the crochet surface becomes a beautiful offset to the white rectangular space.
The intent of the installation is to draw ones voice and ones eye into into the undulating loops of the crochet surface.
Process
Playful, exciting, and a physically demanding day of fabrication.
