Overview
“A Community Story” is the first exhibition at the new Frederick Arts Council location on 5 E 2nd St. It is an installation which evolved from “Golden Mile in Focus” by Wing Young Huie which is open now on the Golden Mile. A Community Story is a way to share our stories and showcase the people of Frederick and the meaningful objects which relate to their respective cultures. Members of our community brought a photograph of family or someone significant to them and a small object which is representative of their culture.
Goals
"A Community Story" is a way to share our cultural stories with each other and break down existing cultural barriers.
Process
This is an evolving exhibition which will continue to grow throughout its duration. We continue to encourage participation so we may continue to expand our cultural knowledge.
