Overview
This pictorial metal relief sculpture was commissioned for the atrium entrance lobby of the Licking County Memorial Medical Center in Newark, Ohio. The commissioning of the sculpture was to commemorate the hospital’s centennial and celebrate a newly constructed building.
Goals
The artwork was designed to address the convex curved wall in the lobby and provide a colorful and positive image of hospital activity and its mission within the community.
Process
The design includes some references to former hospital buildings and personnel that were based on historic photos provided by the Licking Memorial Medical Center Foundation.
Additional Information
The sculpture measures 3'h x 13'w x 6"d and is fabricated from laser cut aluminum plate, finished with automobile paints.
