I use light and wind not just visibly in my sculpture but poetically. I explore form and movement like a painter using color, expressively. I consider how my designs grow from the earth outdoors or suspend within interior spaces. Defying the laws of balance, intricate engineering enables the harmony of lines and seemingly weightlessness in my large sculpture. Inspired by Pollock, I strive for the work to have a life of its own for the viewer to experience. Since 1992, collaborating with Wayne P. LaPierre, fabricator/ engineer, we create installations hand-crafted in metals or transparent materials changing space into place.
