Recently his work has been accepted to the National Public Art Archive, Lloyd Goradesky’s background in art and design has enabled him to master a wide range of mediums to express his unique artistic vision. Whether focusing on film, photography, sculpture, metal works or kinetic art, the uniting theme in his work is that each project reflects an aspect of our lives, culture and society that warrants having light shined on it; shares a powerful social message; and inspires community engagement Goradesky is widely recognized for his award-winning iconic public art projects that is widely recognized for his award-winning iconic public art projects that allow the community to experience art in their daily life, while creating social interaction and encouraging dialogue. One example is the world-renowned epic ‘Gator in the Bay’ project, which illuminated the importance of the Everglades to Florida’s eco-system. A highlight of Art Basel 2012 and 2013, the ‘World’s Largest Floating Alligator’, the size of a football field that floated in Biscayne Bay, was made of 104 individual floating art tiles, each featuring over 3000 unique photographic images of the Everglades. In keeping with the focus on the environment, Goradesky used recycled junkyard materials to create the gator’s head – a 3-story steel sculpture, complete with a movable upper jaw. A 4-year, $1 million-dollar project, the Gator in the Bay is currently touring Europe. His early work in photography was dedicated to the beauty of nature and wildlife. The exhibit and corresponding coffee table book, ‘caged free: animal survival in captivity’, highlighted the human aspects of animals and birds – their humor, curiosity and familial tendencies, including unconditional love for their children. Beginning as a fully functioning 16-foot WeatherVane featuring cut-out heart shapes and topped by a Cupid’s Arrow, LLGYW is a celebration of Kindness. (the most-visited display at the Art Festival, credited as the driving force in the City of Boynton Beach being named America’s Most Romantic City by TripAdvisor, 2019.) The message of the art became an ongoing mission to Share Kindness at a time when it seems to be sorely lacking in our world. Goradesky has created many award-winning projects featured in numerous national and international publications, television – including National Geographic, Discovery Channel and PBS – as well as radio, cable and internet programs. He has garnered multiple awards within the art and design industries, and he continues to create unique commissions for high profile residential and commercial projects.
