Join Your Colleagues in Boston!

CODAworx is partnering with Americans for the Arts Public Art Network (PAN), the only professional network dedicated to advancing public art, for the annual Public Art Preconference. The Public Art Preconference is the premier event bringing public art professionals from across the field to network, share knowledge and celebrate their work in the community.

This year’s preconference, The Present & Presence of Public Art: Exploring the Role of Art in Communities, looks to examine how the presence of public art in civic space, landscape, city-scape, or rural environment visually impacts the perception of a place and used by the community. Artists, administrators and stakeholders need to better understand present day concerns and what it takes to develop a public art project. Join the Public Art Preconference to explore the role art plays in a community from the longevity and care of an artwork, how the community engages with the selection process, and unique funding opportunities. Guided public art tours visit locations across Boston that emphasize unique trends in public art today. The Preconference experience will provide you an understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing public art today, as well as the tools and knowledge that strengthen and grow your work in your community.
